Everyone has been doing it. Whether on Wow or Icelandair, people are flocking to Iceland. In fact, in the last year they had more than four times as many visitors as inhabitants. And once you’re there you can tell exactly why.

A Romp Around Ireland
Well, hello. It’s been a while. My adjustment to proper adulting has been a difficult one.
Conversely and in good news, despite the drag of the 9 to 5 (well, 8:30 to 5), I managed to escape to Ireland. And even squeezed in a 40 hour visit to London, during which time I managed to see 13 friends…individually. Talk about exhausting, eh?
Pristina, Kosovo: Updated
Pristina is all about its restaurants and bars – as, sadly to admit, there isn’t too much else to do in the city. Having lived in Pristina all summer I’ve got some new jems to share. Also things in this city are constantly closing and opening for this and that so an occasional update is completely necessary.
Paradise Found: Santorini, Greece
Oh Santorini, you beaute. I’ve been extremely fortunate to travel to some truly spectacular places and Santorini is definitely in my top three for a relaxing and lounging type of holiday (the variety of which I rarely do). We’ve all seen amazing photos of Santorini on the internet and it was everything I’d imagined and more. It was truly breathtaking. I spent countless hours researching which village to stay in and what accommodation to book, as where you stay is very much a part of the experience. I was very happy to find that my chosen village, Oia (pronounced ee-ya), was without a doubt the right choice. It was amazing just how silent and peaceful it was after 23:00 – I loved it.
10 Hours in Istanbul, Turkey
I’ve always wanted to go to Istanbul and have some how never had the chance despite it being a very frequent layover for any flights out of the Balkans. So, en route to Rome from Pristina I made sure I had the longest layover possible in Istanbul. And boy, did we jam it full of as much as we possibly could. My legs were aching more than they’ve ever ached before on the metro back to the airport, but it was worth it to explore this Eurasian beauty.
Favourite Roman Rooftops
Rome is overrun with tourist nearly all year long and summer is particularly dreadful, so sometimes you just need to escape the crowds and enjoy the beauty of Rome from above. When I just can’t take the throngs of tourists any longer I ascend to these little rooftop havens 🙂
Double Trouble: Two Roman Gelaterias
Like London and its seemingly infinite number of pubs, Rome is chalk full of gelaterias. Countless really. And I’m sure there are at least 50 establishments people claim as the best gelateria in Rome. I won’t pretend to know, with certainty, the absolute best gelateria in Rome, but the following two are ones I always return to.
A First-Timers Guide to Rome, Italy
After doing a quick stop in Rome this week, I thought it was about time I wrote about Rome as a whole. As a first-timer to Rome you have an obscene amount to see and do and though it may seem daunting you really ought to give it your best. It is a vibrant city with amazing architecture, intriguing history, warm colours, decadent cuisine, and a bustling night life.

Favourite Proper London Pubs
I’ve been asked at least 1,390,034 times just why I LOVE London so much and part of that answer is: the pub culture. I am the ultimate sucker for a traditional cosy pub replete with wood-paneled walls, open fire places, and stacks on stacks of board games. There are more amazing pubs in London than one could ever possibly discover, but these were my regular haunts whilst living in London.
Enoteca Cul de Sac, Rome, Italy
Yup, this restaurant gets its own post. It is not an exaggeration or overstatement when I say that Enoteca Cul de Sac is my favourite restaurant in the world (thus far). I have specifically made trips to Rome just to eat lunch and dinner here and then carry on with my travels. I have dreams about this place. Whenever I am in Rome, I eat here every day and the people I drag with me do not mind in the slightest. Over the past eight years I have probably sent over 40 people to this restaurant, and every single one reports back that they absolutely loved it and also went multiple times over their stay in Rome.
